Offline Quran learning app: prepare text and audio

For offline Quran practice, check text, audio and connected features separately. In Al Minhaj, some previously loaded content may remain accessible, while Pro lets you download surahs and audio for planned offline use. Voice recognition and cloud synchronization require internet access.

At a glance

  • Cached content is different from a prepared download.
  • Download and verify your passage before travelling.
  • Test in airplane mode; microphone analysis still needs a connection.

Separate a cache from a download

Content you opened before may remain temporarily on the device. This does not guarantee access to an unfamiliar passage or confirm that every audio file has been kept. Before travelling or visiting a place without coverage, prepare the resources you actually intend to use.

Al Minhaj Pro offers surah downloads with text and audio. Local availability is separate from functions that contact a service, such as voice recognition.

Check each feature separately

Feature Before disconnecting
Passage text Open or download the surah and verify it
Translation and word-level content Check the language and selected passage
Reciter audio Finish downloading the chosen reciter
Local progress Check that practice resumes on the device
Voice analysis and cloud sync Plan for internet access

This checklist tells you what to inspect on your device. It does not claim that every resource opened once will remain available indefinitely.

Prepare before a journey

  1. Choose the surahs and reciter you expect to use.
  2. Start the downloads available with your plan.
  3. Wait for completion and check free device storage.
  4. Enable airplane mode.
  5. Open a passage and play several verses.
  6. Reconnect if something is missing and repeat the check.

Also test after closing the app. An already visible screen is not enough to establish what will work when you reopen it.

Adapt practice without microphone analysis

You can listen to local audio, read and attempt the passage without text. Check your recall afterwards and note difficulties for later feedback. Recite from Memory does not inherently require automated analysis.

Our voice-recognition article explains why its output differs from playing a downloaded audio file.

Benefits and limitations

Prepared files can make practice easier in transport or with unreliable coverage. They occupy device storage, particularly audio. Changing the reciter or language calls for another availability check.

Offline mode does not mean the app never uses internet access. It also does not, by itself, establish anything about advertising or privacy.

Before relying on a disconnected session

Explore Al Minhaj, review the Pro information, then test airplane mode with your chosen passage. If you are starting to read, our reading app guide helps you choose a task you can complete with those resources.

Frequently asked questions

Is all offline access free?

Loaded content may remain available, but prepared surah and audio downloads are part of Al Minhaj Pro. Check your passage before relying on it.

Can I analyse recitation in airplane mode?

No. Al Minhaj’s voice analysis requires a connection, even when the text and reference audio have been downloaded.
